We're running a series of practical trainings this autumn on topics from using online tools to organising in your community. These sessions are designed for Food & Solidarity members, with one open session on opencollective and fiscal hosting.

What's on offer

1. Open Collective Administration - Mon 29 Sep 2025 8pm (online)

Ever wondered how funds can be managed traparently to fuel community's work? This introductory session is your invitation to learn the ropes. Join fellow community members to demystify these financial tools, ensuring every pound is accounted for and powers a collective mission. The training is open to non-members.

2. Using Google Docs for Collaborative Work - Sat 04 Oct 2025 6pm (Hybrid)

Tired of messy email chains and conflicting document versions, or not sure how to add your thoughts to a document? Let's get organised together. This hands-on intro will show you how we use simple, powerful tools to write, plan, and create as one. Learn the secrets to seamless collaboration that saves time, amplifies our shared voice, and gets real work done, together.

3. Making a Video: Idea to Finished Product (Reels & TikTok) - Sat 11 Oct 2025 - 2pm Sat 25 Oct 2025 - 6pm (in person)

After we've handled the parcels, let's harness the power of storytelling. Your community's and your fellow members' story deserves to be heard, let's learn how to tell it. This in-person Saturday session will guide you from a spark of an idea to a polished, engaging video ready to share on social media. No experience needed, just a willingness to create and connect.

4. Community Organising: From Gripe to Power - Sat 25 Oct 2025 6pm (in person)

Feel a gripe about something in our community? That's the raw material for change. This in-person Saturday workshop is for those ready to transform frustration into focused action. We'll gather after parcel-making to learn how to turn common concerns into collective power, build campaigns, and win tangible improvements for our neighbourhood.

5. Organising Conversations - Sun 02 Nov 2025 (in person)

Change doesn't start with a megaphone or a call out in a Whatapp group; it starts with a conversation. This session is a deep dive into the fundamental skill of connecting with people, listening deeply, and unlocking shared purpose. Learn the art of one-to-one organising that forms the bedrock of trust and power in our community. Essential for anyone ready to make a difference. Sun 02 Nov 2025 time TBA
