🚀 Shape the Future of Food & Solidarity: Vote for Your Board by Friday!
Time is running out! Members of Food & Solidarity – don’t forget to cast your vote in the 2025 Board Elections by 23:59 this Friday, 9th May.
This year is the second time we have run contested elections, and 16 members are standing.
Why Your Vote Matters
The Board of Directors ensures the day-to-day work of Food & Solidarity gets done—so we can focus on building a stronger, more equitable food system. Every member has a say, and every vote counts.
Directors: The Backbone of Our Organisation, Supporting Members to Win!
Directors ensure the work gets done—they don’t do it alone. Our power comes from teams of members (like the parcel making teams, communications team, and peer defence and support committee) doing the hands-on work.
This includes:
✅ Make sure systems run smoothly (e.g., food orders go out, rotas are filled).
📢 Keep members informed and engaged.
🛠️ Support committees to bring proposals to meetings.
🍎 Food Logistics: Managing food orders, stock checks, and sourcing.
📦 Parcel Operations: Ensuring smooth deliveries and supporting volunteers.
👥 Membership: Welcoming new members, tracking engagement, and mapping membership.
💰 Financial & Legal Compliance: Handling expenses, payments, and compliance.
🛡️ Defence, Support & Complaints: Leading peer support, defence, and resolving issues.
📢 Communications: Running social media and member updates.
🗓️ Meeting Planning & Strategy: Organising meetings and future planning.
Directors don’t make decisions, that’s your job at member meetings. But they handle the essential work that keeps Food & Solidarity moving.
