Stop Your Rent Rising — Free Workshop, 10th October

Getting a rent increase letter is stressful, especially if you don't know what your options are. Most tenants assume there's nothing they can do, but that's not true. If your landlord tries to raise your rent, you can challenge it at tribunal, and you can force them to prove the increase is fair.

That's what this workshop is about.

What you'll learn:

  • What Food & Solidairty is

  • The Fight Your Rent Plan!

  • How the rent tribunal process actually works, step by step

  • What counts as evidence, and how to gather it

  • How to fill in the forms (bring your tenancy agreement if you have one)

  • What happens at a hearing, and what to expect

  • How Food & Solidarity supports members through the process, including help with fees

Who it's for:
This isn't just for private renters. If you're in social housing, or you own your home, you're welcome too, a street where neighbours understand this process and back each other is one landlords think twice about testing. Come along even if you're not currently facing a rent rise.
